How to minimize cell phone radiation
The World Health Organization’s leading experts have classified cell phone use in the same “carcinogenic hazard” category as lead, engine exhaust, and chloroform. There haven’t been enough long term studies to determine if the radiation emitted from cell phones during use to safe, but there has been enough data to persuade WHO of a possible connection, so that they upgraded cell phones’ status in 2011.
The radiation used by cell phones is non-ionizing, which doesn’t damage DNA in the same way that ionizing radiation does. Cell phones operate more like very low power microwaves. It’s very unlikely that you would knowingly stick a microwave next to your face as it was being used. With that in mind here are some tips to consider as you continue to use your cell phone:
Get wired –
Wired headsets automatically cut down on the amount of radiation that you are being exposed to. While radiation is still being emitted from the phone the amount that you are being exposed to is greatly minimized.
This is probably one of the easiest way of keeping the cell phone away from the side of your head. Every inch you can keep the phone away from your body reduces the amount of radiation that you are being exposed to. Just a two inch separation from the phone reduces the amount of radiation you are exposed to by a factor of four.
Don’t rely on Bluetooth –
Bluetooth wireless earpieces expose you to radiation. However, it is much less than the amount of radiation that you are exposed to from your phone. The problem is when people wear their Bluetooth pieces all the time. If you’re going to be wearing your Bluetooth switch it from ear to ear so that the amount of radiation your brain is exposed to is reduced.
